Una Doyle - The Confidence Coach
So how did I end up here, you might ask yourself? Along
my journey, it's a question that I have certainly asked myself!
I actually realised that I wanted to be a coach and help people
to change their lives a few years before I did anything about it.
Why? Because I
didn't think it was realistic. Realistic - do you know I think the
world would be a better place if that word, together with 'try'
and 'but' were banned! How many people out in the world already
know what they want to do and yet never do it? They don't even admit
it to themselves, let alone anyone else. It's all about confidence.
I sat in my first
coaching seminar and thought, "I'd love to do that!" Perhaps if
I'd had the foresight to hire a coach for ongoing work it wouldn't
have taken me another three years before I started!
I had reached
rock bottom about a year before when my marriage ended. Not necessarily
because it ended, more because the process had forced me to examine
my life. I was frustrated in my work. I wasn't being recognised
for my contribution (I thought), I was depressed and broke. I was
ready to look forward and coaching helped me to do that, in a positive
way that changed my thinking and I made gradual progress.
What I did in
that three years before becoming a coach benefited me too. I'm a
great believer in things happening for a reason. Perhaps I needed
to have experienced the frustrations of some of that in-between
time to benefit my clients...
Looking back on
my life, every single thing I have done has brought here to this
moment and had meaning. All the customer service, sales and marketing
jobs I did mean that I know how to get and keep clients. My work
in employee communications and change management and studies mean
that I really understand how organisations struggle to implement
change. They just need to focus on the individual. Even the year
I spent doing drama and dance when I left school (which many said
was a waste of time!) means that I can do and adore public speaking
and training.
Since I became
a coach with all my learning (and it continues!) and got a coach
of my own, my life has transformed even more and I am happier than
I have ever been in my life. This is what I want for you...
I love coaching
- I get a real kick out of helping people to change their lives!
I treasure those aha! moments when a client has a shift in thinking.
I even relish when a client is stopped in their tracks because they've
never asked themselves that question before...
I don't believe
change has to be painful - in fact all my clients really enjoy spending
this time on themselves and they certainly enjoy the results they
achieve. We even have been known to laugh during the coaching sessions...
It's important
to me to work with people who are prepared to change their thinking
and take action in order to get what they want. My clients are committed
to change. Is this you? Why not try the 'How
coachable are you' assessment?
