How can EFT help you to get the life you want?
Emotional Freedom Techniques, usually abbreviated to EFT, is a recently discovered, revolutionary and rapidly growing form of personal development, healing and therapy. EFT is based on the discovery that imbalances in the body's energy system have profound effects on one's personal psychology, mental and physical well-being.

Life is energy

Our electrical systems are vital to our physical health. What could be more obvious? When the energy stops flowing, we die. Ask your doctor. No one disputes it. In fact, civilization has known about this for millenniums. About 5,000 years ago, the Chinese discovered a complex system of energy circuits that run throughout the body.

These energy circuits...or meridians as they are called...are the centerpiece of Eastern health practices and form the basis for modern day acupuncture, acupressure and a wide variety of other healing techniques.

Out of balance

This energy system holds the key to many of the disturbances we experience in our daily lives. When it is out of balance, our emotional life could be compared to a car that is in desperate need of a tune up.

The Emotional Freedom Technique contends that this disruption in the body's energy system is the cause of all negative emotions. With remarkable consistency, EFT relieves symptoms by an unusual (but scientific) routine of tapping with the fingertips on specific points on the energy meridians, which neutralizes disruptions in your body's electrical system.

What can EFT do for me?

Developed over the last 10 years by American Gary Craig, here’s what he has to say about this modern miracle that has its roots in ancient Chinese medicine…

How can tapping possibly achieve all that?

As you gently tap or press on a point, whilst repeating a neutralizing affirmation, neural receptors under the skin convert the pressure to an electrical impulse that is transmitted to the brain. The tapping serves to release the blockages that are created when a person thinks about or becomes involved in an emotionally disturbing circumstance. When this blockage is released, the emotions come into balance. The spoken affirmations ensure that your mind is "tuned in" to the problem from which you want relief. “Tuning in” to the specific problem will bring about the energy disruptions involved, which are then balanced by the tapping.

Most energetic imbalances may be partially or completely relieved within a short time using this process – often a matter of minutes, hours, days, or weeks rather than the months or even years required with more conventional therapies. Where EFT cannot usually cure (such as cases of degnerative diseases) symptoms may be relieved through simple daily repetition of the process.

EFT and Coaching

It very important to be specific with the affirmation used as the more complicated issues often have a number of different facets or layers to them, as parts or aspects. This is particularly where coaching comes in. Many people find that they don’t know where to start on an issue and how to uncover the specific thoughts or beliefs to use as part of the affirmation.

Other times persistance is required where psychological reversal (what could be referred to as self-sabatoge) is present. The difficulty can be that if somebody tends towards self-sabatoge, the chances of them being persistant in using the Emotional Freedom Technique is reduced. Some form of accountability, either by having regular sessions with a coach or EFT practicioner or an EFT ‘buddy’ greatly helps with this.

Coaching with EFT is not only helpful for clearing away what has been holding you back. It can also be used to help you to focus on what you want, your goals, your life vision.

What could I use EFT on?

EFT is incredibly versatile and has been used confidently by hundreds of therapists, counsellors and coaches on thousands of clients with successes on even the most difficult problems, by relieving imbalances in their clients' energy systems.
